Winncy Du

Professor Winncy Du is with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at San Jose State University where she is also the director of the Robotics, Sensor, and Machine Intelligence Laboratory. She received both her PhD in ME and her MS degree in ECE from Georgia Tech. She earned MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University and Jilin University, respectively. She is also a registered Professional Engineer and holds Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems certificate. Her research and teaching areas are robotics, sensors, and mechatronics with an emphasis on health care and biomedical applications. She is a sole author of book: “Resistive, Capacitive, Inductive, and Magnetic Sensor Technologies” (Taylor & Francis Group, 2015), co-author of the books Smart Sensors and Sensing Technology (Springer-Verlag, 2008) and Modern Sensors, Transducers, and Sensor Networks (IFSA, 2012). She has published over 40 journal and conference papers. She is a PI or co-PI of more than 23 research grants.
