Daniel Theobald co-founded Vecna in 1998 with the mission of empowering humanity through transformative technologies. Daniel has been at the forefront of robotics R&D in actuation, machine perception, navigation, manipulation and human-robot interfaces. Daniel’s work on the Rocky7 Mars rover, BEAR, QCBot, and VGo paved the way for development of the most robust and flexible suite of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) available. These robots are changing the way things are manufactured, moved, and maintained, enhancing human productivity across sectors. Daniel is also co-founder and president of MassRobotics, an industry consortium dedicated to fostering the global robotics community. MassRobotics brings innovative startups, industry, and financing together to promote innovation and economic growth. Graduating at the top of his class from MIT where Daniel worked in the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and was honored with the Henry Ford II Scholar Award, an NSF Fellowship, and a Hertz Fellowship award.
